Our Purpose

Mentoring CHEC is an MCIP initiative that pairs high-potential students with dedicated mentors to create college-bound life changing opportunities.

Our program focuses on nurturing talent and fostering personal growth by connecting students with experienced professionals who provide guidance, support, and inspiration. Through individualized mentoring relationships, students are empowered to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and realize their full potential. At Mentoring CHEC, we believe in the transformative power of mentorship to shape futures and build stronger communities.

Essential Requirements​

To be considered as a mentor, all applicants must meet these requirement:

TWO YEAR COMMITMENT

A two-year commitment where your guidance becomes the catalyst for a student's lifelong success, echoing far beyond these pivotal years.

DCPS BACKGROUND CHECK

This mandatory requirement is a simple step that ensures a safe and trusting environment, laying the foundation for meaningful mentorship connections.

FOUR HOURS A MONTH

One hour a week, woven into regular texts and calls, transforms into a lifeline of guidance, teaching the ropes of successful adulthood.

MONTHLY GATHERINGS

Our monthly gatherings at CHEC are where mentors and mentees forge deeper connec­tions and share in the journey of growth and discovery.
